The International Kids Coding Association (IKCA) is excited to announce a special event on October 30, 2024, designed to bring together science, music, technology, and faith to support children worldwide. Join us and be part of a movement making a lasting impact on young lives in vulnerable situations.
The Event: A Unique Fusion of Art and Technology
Understanding that education thrives alongside health and well-being, we also partner with charities to fight poverty and ensure children have access to healthcare. Only when these basic needs are met can children fully benefit from educational opportunities.
The upcoming Solidarity Event is an extraordinary collaboration with renowned artist Gianpaolo Ledda and Barbara Figus. This event unites science, technology, and the arts in a shared mission: to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children from three continents — Asia, Africa, and South America — who struggle to access essential medical care. With limited resources, we aim to fund medical interventions that will dramatically improve their quality of life.
Who We’re Helping: Stories of Hope
1. Latin America: Peru – B's Story
B, a bright 10-year-old girl, is one of our coding students. Through Compagnia del Perù, B and her siblings have found refuge at Casa de Tuty, a safe haven for children impacted by violence and abandonment. Unfortunately, B suffers from a neurological condition that requires continuous medical monitoring, along with psychotherapy to help manage her emotional challenges. Our goal is to raise €600 to cover her medical and psychological needs, enabling her to focus on her studies and enjoy a peaceful childhood.
2. Africa: Tanzania – Sabrillah's Journey
Sabrillah, just two years old, was born with cryptorchidism, a condition that requires urgent surgery to alleviate his pain. His mother, who works in a women’s salon and lives in poverty, has struggled to provide for Sabrillah after the family was abandoned by his father. We are seeking to raise £400 for this crucial surgery, offering Sabrillah the chance for a pain-free future.
3. Asia: Vietnam – Chung's Path to Recovery
Chung, a resilient 14-year-old boy, lost the use of his left arm after an accident, limiting his ability to pursue his dream of becoming a carpenter. In partnership with E-ducare, Il Sogno di Giulia Zedda odv, and Fab Lab Cagliari, we are working to provide Chung with both an orthopedic brace and an essential surgery. With the expertise of Dr. Paolo Sassu, Chung could regain partial arm function. Your support could make this life-changing opportunity possible.
Together, we can make a profound impact on the lives of these children. By joining our event on October 30, 2024, and contributing to this cause, you’ll help us offer essential medical support for B, Sabrillah, and Chung, empowering them to face their challenges with hope and resilience. Your support—no matter the amount—creates tangible change, ensuring that every child has the right to healthcare, education, and a brighter future. Join us in this journey of compassion and solidarity. Let’s make a difference that spans continents and changes lives!
